The Australian spearhead, Mitchell Starc is ready to play after his foot injury. After a long hiatus from competitive cricket, Mitchell Starc will play the JLT Cup match between New South Wales and South Australia.
Starc last appeared in the international cricket in June 2017 during the Champions Trophy. Australia had a poor and an unlucky tournament as they lost one game and suffered two no results due to rain. Furthermore, Starc did not participate in the test series during the Bangladesh tour. Also, he is not a part of the ongoing limited over series in India.
Starc missed India’s tour so that he recovers from his foot injury to play The Ashes. Now, it looks like he is ready to bowl again as he has recovered from the injury. Starc said:
“Barring any hiccups, I’ll be taking part in the JLT Cup and hopefully those first couple of Shield games as well. I think that’s a great lead-up for all the guys who are around the Test set-up, the guys who are looking to try and get in that team and some of us coming back from injury.”
Furthermore, he added:
Currently, New South Wales stand at second position with one win and one loss. They are four points behind Western Australia. Getting Starc in the team is a huge boost to the team.
