Watford gave their all in their season opener against Liverpool as Miguel Britos scored a 93rd minute goal to equalise things for Watford. A point earned against Liverpool is surely a bonus for the home side as ‘new season, same old Liverpool’ headlines are all over the internet.

Liverpool’s attacking side was fundamental on the day as Mohamed Salah scored on his debut. But, it was Watford who showed great resilience against the Reds and refused to give up till the last minute and for that hunger and desire they were rewarded by a draw against Liverpool.

Watford started immensely well as Stefano Okaka opened the scoring for Watford as he powered the ball into the back of the net by his thunderous header.

Liverpool responded well as their star player Sadio Mane provided the spark they needed as he scored a clinical goal to equalise things for Liverpool.

But, the problem for Liverpool is still the same and that is their ‘defence’ as Abdoulaye Doucoure scored from close range after a piece of terrible defending from the reds of Merseyside. Watford had their chances and could’ve easily won the game but the flavor of Troy Deeney’s attacking quality was surely be missed by Watford supporters.

Liverpool came back into the game after a poor piece of goalkeeping from Heurelho Gomes against Salah leads to the penalty and was dispatched coolly into the back of the net by Roberto Firmino.

The Reds also came close on various occasions as Dejan Lovren’s perfect header and Alberto Moreno’s optimistic strike both got saved by Gomes in style.

Liverpool were sneaking in the defence of Watford slowly and steadily and they found their way back past their defensive line when Firmino chipped the out-rushing Gomes but just when his chip was going far from the net, Salah came on his bike and slotted the ball into the back of the net.

But, it was Britos who scored the goal of the day in the dying minutes of the game and marked Klopp’s 100th competitive game as Reds boss as a frustrating draw.

No wonder it’s not the end of the road for Liverpool but no wonder watching their team got beaten because of their defence again and it was a big headache to watch and let’s hope Klopp have interesting answers and ideas in his mind before heading to the press conference and training ground.
