The scientists believe that the mystery is linked to the discovery of a series of underwater craters at the bottom of the Barents Sea.
Finally the Bermuda Triangle Mystery comes to an end!
Scientists now believe that they have come a step closer to one of the greatest mysteries of the world, Bermuda Triangle, which gulps aircraft and ships.
This belief has been established with the discovery of a series of underwater craters at the bottom of the Barents Sea, off the coast of Norway, reports News.com.au
The Bermuda Triangle, or Devil’s Triangle, is located between the island of Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Florida in the US. It is hoped that the craters are the key for explaining this bewildered phenomenon.
Some believe paranormal activity is to blame, others say it’s a space-time warp.
According to a scientist, the crater areas represent one of the largest hot spots for shallow marine methane release in the Arctic, which creates enormous blowouts of gas bubbles, leading to sinking of ships. Last year, this possibility was explored by a scientist, who said that the Bermuda Triangle is a consequence of gas hydrates reactions.
Researchers also say that the theory of the “Bermuda Triangle” is pseudo or false.
During an on-air interview with news.com.au, one Karl Kruszelnicki – a well-known science communicator out of Australia – notes that the number of vessels and aircraft that disappear in the area “is the same as anywhere else in the world on a percentage basis.”
“It is close to the equator, near a wealthy part of the world, America, therefore you have a lot of traffic.”
The enormous publicity that the disappearances gained helped create the legend Bermuda.
