KL Rahul Suffered A Shoulder Injury During Australia’s Tour Of India!

Earlier this year, the opening batsman had to miss the IPL and Champions Trophy due to a shoulder injury. He made a comeback to the side and scored a great half century in the 2-day practice match. He scored 54 runs off 58 balls, including seven boundaries. The opener had looked in exalted touch before he went down with the viral fever.

In a press conference, KL Rahul expressed his views on his injury. He said it was tough to stay away from the action. He also said how he was cautious about the injury and he fears the injury would happen again. The opener said:

“Yes, I am [nervous]. The body is still very unsure, and it keeps holding me back every time. That’s the biggest challenge coming back from injury. You know that you are physically fit, and you have done everything that you can, worked hard, you are feeling stronger, you are feeling fitter. But the mind always tells you what if it happens again, what if you have to go through the same grind for three months, what if your shoulder is not ready, what if you came back early. The fear is obviously there but I will fight it, and I will overcome that.”

With him missing out the first test, Shikhar Dhawan will take up his place at the top. Abhinav Mukund would be the second opener. Both of them are not the first choice openers and therefore, it is a perfect opportunity for the two to make their mark and strengthen their place at the top.
