After the successful launch of Hyundai Verna 2017 in China and Russia the South Korean car maker is all set to launch the new generation Hyundai Verna 2017 in the Indian market. The sedan in true sense embodies sporty chic in its design. With its classic design and features offered it will surely turn a lot of heads around.
So here’s all the information you need to know about the Hyundai Verna 2017 model.
The new 2017 version of Hyundai Verna looks much more than what was shown last year. High-strength steel has been used in the exteriors and the updated platform has made the car lighter and stronger than its current generation. The new ‘Cascading’ grille takes centre room with sleek new swept back headlamps on either side. There are minor change made in the length, width and wheelbase creating more room inside the cabin. The 2017 Verna will be 15mm longer and 29mm wider compared to the current version.
It features projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), sculpted bumper with central air-dams, new bonnet, revised bumper and pentagonal LED fog lamps. The car has ‘kick up’ style spoiler and narrow split tail lamps with LED elements and LED turn indicators. The saloon space looks quite eclectic from sides, with sloping roofline, blacked-out C-pillar, chrome door handles and new diamond cut alloy wheels.
The Hyundai Verna 2017 gets a brand new cabin which looks classier than the current car. The dashboard looks more elegant than ever before it has 5.0-inch colour TFT LCD instrument display. It gets a neatly integrated touchscreen infotainment system and auto aircon controls placed below it.
It will have all-black interior trim with silver highlights Indian version is expected to get interiors with dual tone of black and beige. To make the sedan more desirable, Hyundai will also equip electric driver’s seat with heated front seats, leather upholstery and multi-functional steering wheel. The car will also support voice recognition and app-based navigation and automatic climate control system. If the talk is about safety Hyundai Verna will prove to be a more secure machine than ever before it will have dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and all disc brakes. High-spec trim will have a rear view camera and six airbags.
Engine and Transmission
The new Hyundai Verna 2017 will get four engine options – 1.4-litre petrol, 1.6-litre petrol, 1.4-litre diesel and 1.6-litre diesel. The 1.4 and 1.6 petrol engines make 106 bhp and 121 bhp respectively. While the 1.4 and 1.6 diesel engines makes 89 bhp and 126 bhp respectively. The 6-speed manual that comes standard with all engines will continue to come in same way. However the 1.6 L Petrol and 1.6 L Diesel engines can be replaced with 6-speed automatic units.
With the improvement in the engine the new version will witness a marginal improvement in mileage. The 1.4 Diesel engine offers as much as 23 KMPL and 1.6-litre Diesel engine offers as much as 18 KMPL. The 1.4 Petrol engine could give a mileage of 18 KMPL and 1.6-litre Petrol engine could give a mileage 17 KMPL.
Prices of the 2017 model Hyundai Verna will be slightly at peak than those of the current version. The starting price can be expected around Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-end model could cost roughly Rs 13.5 Lakh.
