Zayn Malik has always been vocal about his anxiety issues that he faces from performing live.
The 24-year-old British singer revealed that the anxiety he used face from performing live is now at a more manageable place. Zayn also opened up about not feeling dreaded from performing live anymore.
The singer has suffered from anxiety for years now. Zayn told Evening Standard, “It’s not a thing that you just get rid of overnight, but it’s getting to a much more manageable place,” he also added “I think it came from a lack of confidence, just a sense of disbelief [sic] in myself.”
Ever since Zayn left One Direction and went solo, he has come across some struggles in his live performances, but, now he feels a lot more confident than he was ever in the past. Lately, Zayn has been able to overcome anxiety in a major way, and all the struggles he faced last year, he is finally overcoming them.
Leaving One Direction may have boosted his anxiety in the initial phases, but finally it is turning out to be beneficial for him. “You have a certain sense of control, which is nice, and I’m more confident in my ability and what I want to give to my fans.
I can think of people coming out to see me perform as a positive thing now, rather than something I am dreading”, Zayn added.
Zayn didn’t even go on tour last year after his debut solo album, Mind of Mine was released due to severe anxiety. He even cancelled some shows due to the same reason.
So it is good to see, that the former member of One Direction, is finally heading in the right direction. We hope that it stays the same way and he keeps overcoming all the hurdles in his path.
