Engine & Transmission


The only Tiguan option available in India is 2.0-litre TDI Diesel. Worldwide it’s available in two states of tune 190 HP & 400 Nm and 150 HP & 340 Nm. Where as in India only 150 HP & 340 Nm is currently available. It has standardised 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. Both the variants have All-Wheel Drive system. Tiguan is also available in petrol engine of 150 PS 1.4 TSI but this version is not currently available in India. The petrol version may arrive at a later stage.


Exterior Design

The tiguan has kept the look classic and very Volkswagen style. The bonnet has clean sharp and straight lines. The look is very masculine and sturdy. It has all LED headlamps fittings along with the LED daytime running lights also it features the boomerang-shape LED tail lamps lights. The nose has a chrome grille that is neatly constructed towards the headlamps. The tails has that typical Volkswagen look. The car looks quite smart and is a complete SUV package.


Interior Design

Volkswagen is known for its sheer elegance and grace here with tiguan it’s no different. Indian version seems to have the black and beige with piano black highlights. The Centre console has a digital screen which can double up the display for easy navigation. The steering wheels are made of great quality rubber somewhat similar to Volkswagen polo. The standard tiguan comes with only two rows of seats.



In India, the Volkswagen Tiguan comes in two trim variants Comfort line and Highline trims. The Volkswagen Tiguan price in India starts from around Rs. 27.98 lakh and top of the Highline trim ranges up to Rs.32.45 lakh ex-showroom. Tiguan is automaker’s second SUV launch and is assembled by them at its Aurangabad, Maharashtra plant.



Volkswagen tiguan is said to give mileage of around 13.06 kmpl in city and 17.06 Kmpl on highway.
